2023 KASBP 가을 심포지엄이 11/03 - 11/04 (금~토) 양일간 뉴저지에서 개최될 예정입니다.

가을 심포지움의 중요한 프로그램중 하나인 KASBP Fellowship awards ($1000) 와 MOGAM-KASBP scholarship ($5000) 두개의 award의 신청자를 받고 있습니다. 아래의 자세한 내용 참고해주세요. KASBP fellowship은 5-6분 정도, 목암 장학금은 10분 정도 선정할 예정입니다.

===== KASBP 장학금 $1000 =====

The Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals (KASBP) is cordially inviting you to apply for the KASBP Fellowship awards in the 2023 KASBP Fall Symposium to be held in person from Nov. 3rd to 4th in New Jersey. As an honored tradition, we award the fellowship to young scholars who have demonstrated a proven record of important contributions to the field of biomedical and pharmaceutical research. The recipient will receive $1000.

-- Invited Area:
Medical sciences, Biological & Pharmaceutical sciences, Organic/Medicinal chemistry, and/or areas related to drug discovery and development

-- Detailed Information:
1. Qualification:
* Postdoctoral fellow (Ph.D., MD, PharmD, DVM, and/or MD/PhD) currently working at an academic or pharmaceutical institution.
* Staff scientist with either a doctoral degree or master's degree working at an academic or pharmaceutical institution.
* Instructor or non-tenure track junior staff member working at an academic institution.
* Graduate students are NOT eligible to apply.

2. The fellowship awardee must be registered to the 2023 KASBP Fall Symposium to be eligible to receive the fellowship.
3. The awardee will receive partial travel support.
4. All applicants are encouraged to present posters. You will be notified the acceptance of the poster presentation once selected.
5. The awardee must give a 3-minute oral talk and present a poster.
6. Materials to submit: Abstract, Title, and CV.

* Format: Abstract, Title, and CV (combined PDF)
* Typeface: Times New Roman, font size 11
* Abstract: Concise (must include future direction)

About KASBP Symposium: It has been an excellent venue for emerging scientists and scholars to connect with a large professional Korean-American scientist network. During the symposium, you will also be exposed to various cutting-edge sciences in drug discovery and development from the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.

About the 2023 KASBP Fall Symposium: It will be held in person from November 3rd (Friday) to November 4th (Saturday) in New Jersey. The symposium will focus on "Increasing the Probability of Success in Drug Discovery and Development". For further details regarding the Fall symposium, please stay tuned. Additional information for registration will be forthcoming.



===== 목암 장학금 $5000 =====

The Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals (KASBP) is a non-profit organization founded in May 2001. With the generous support of the MOGAM Science Scholarship Foundation, KASBP established the MOGAM-KASBP scholarship in 2022 to foster brilliant undergraduate and graduate student(s) studying science-related disciplines at university and/or scientific institution outside of the Republic of Korea (ROK). We are cordially inviting you to apply for 2nd MOGAM-KASBP scholarship. The award winner will receive $5000 prize together with airfare and 1-night hotel support.

-- Invited Area:
Medical sciences, Biological & Pharmaceutical sciences, Organic/Medicinal chemistry, and/or areas related to drug discovery and development

-- Detailed Information:
1. Qualification:
* The applicant must be an undergraduate or a graduate student.
* The applicant must have ROK citizenship.
* A permanent US resident (Green card holder) retaining ROK citizenship is eligible to apply.
* The applicant who holds dual citizenship (i.e., both ROK and a foreign country) must declare not to exercise foreign citizenship in Korea before submitting the application.
* The applicant must be registered for the 2023 KASBP Fall Symposium (New Jersey, Nov 3rd ~ 4th) by the application deadline.
* The applicant is encouraged to present a poster (Optional).
* The award nominee will be asked to submit proven pieces of evidence demonstrating both his/her presence at the current institution and ROK nationality before the symposium (copy of certificate of enrollment, and copies of visa and passport). The nomination will be canceled with failure to submit three described documents.

Due date: September 30th, 2023 EST, by the end of the day.
Materials to submit: A cover letter and CV are a must. The title and abstract are only for those who apply poster competition (PDF preferred).
Typeface: Times New Roman, font size 11
Poster abstract: Concise (less than 1 page)
Cover letter: Freestyle in English (describe the originality of your proposal, the impact of the work or proposal on your field, and how this scholarship can fertilize your career development. 3 pages Max)
